bbm

After making debut on Android and iOS, BlackBerry has finally released the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) on Windows Phone, making the rumors about the July launch of the app true. Don’t get too excited to download the app and start sharing your PIN just yet though. BBM has been listed on the Windows Phone Store as a private beta. This means only people with special invite will be able to download and use the app. Fret not, for these are sure signs that a wider launch isn’t far now.

Although Windows Phone has most of the messengers available, BBM had been missing from the list until now. It didn’t seem like BlackBerry was even interested in bringing the app to the platform until the recent sales of WhatsApp and Viber. Perhaps the Canadian maker now realizes, the more users the merrier. And even though the install base of Windows Phone isn’t among the biggest, every user counts.

You can get BBM for Windows Phone through the store link, however, unless you have an invite, you won’t be able to download the app just yet.
