windows phone store

Microsoft overhauled the Windows Phone Store with Windows Phone 8.1 adding features like histogram for ratings, better overall layout and what not. Now the team is pushing out another small update that shows the phone model and make against every app review in the Store.

Why is that useful? For a lot of reasons. Say there’s a paid game in the store that has been rated as “Excellent, runs smoothly.” By a user with a Lumia 1520. Now, another user with a Lumia 520 might not have the same experience with the game and might give it a low rating. In that case, it becomes quite understandable that the app is rather poorly optimized and isn’t worth the purchase on low end devices. However, users with high end phones shouldn’t worry about getting the app at all.

Such small changes usually go unnoticed, but add a lot of value to the overall user experience. We’re glad that the Microsoft team is working to get things done in the right direction.
