Google Calender is another core Android app that has received an update. Taking the version number to v201404011, the update adds the ability to add location suggestions from Google Maps of nearby places when creating a new event. The feature was already present on the web app and has been asked for in the Android version for quite a while now. The update adds new Access to Coarse Location permission for making suggestions based on your location. Earlier, the app could only suggest location of your contacts.
The update also adds support for video calls. You can right away join conference calls from your phone. However, users still can’t add video call support to a meeting created in the Android app.
You can find the Google Calender app in the Play Store here.
